Budget Assumptions
Internet hosting fees—First year: $25 a month for 12 months. Second year: $30 a month for 12 months. Third year: $45 a month for 12 months. We are assuming the same growth curve we have seen over the last three months.
Domain name registration—First year: $20. Second year: switch registrars and obtain price of $10. Third year: $10.
City business license—$60 a year.
Postage—Includes mailing donor acknowledgement letters; mailing of corporate paperwork to city, state, and federal governments; mailing of annual reports; postage for returning books which are loaned to us for processing.
Site promotion—Promotion of the web site to broaden our user base. Depending on advertising rates, ads will be placed in newsletter and convention programs for costuming, sewing, and recreation societies. Online advertising such as Google AdWords may be used in the second year. A promotional needlebook may be used in the third year.
Acquisition of source material—Average of eight books each year at $25 each (either acquired at auction, through bookseller, or interlibrary loan).
Fundraising—Registration fees with the states which require charitable solicitation registration; some require a one-time registration fee, so fees for the second and third year are estimated to be lower than the first year.
